Local Acupuncturist Gives Advice on Living Well at MxCC

Get your sleep, eat well, breath well, and think well.  These are things your doctor might tell you.  They¡¯re also the basic practices that traditional Chinese Medicine recommends for a healthy life according to acupuncturist and herbalist, Samuel Peckham. Peckham shared these insights during a recent lecture on "The Mind and Chinese Medicine" at Middlesex Community College (MxCC). The event was sponsored by the Student Activities office at MxCC.

Peckham, who opened Mu Li Herbs and Acupuncture, an Acupuncture Clinic and Herbal Pharmacy on Main Street in Middletown six months ago, spoke about the importance of a grounded Shen and the balance of Yin and Yang in the body. One of the most prominent things that Peckham recommended was ³complimenting yourself at least 200 times a day for good mental health.²

Peckham will be teaching a continuing education course in Tai Chi at MxCC, beginning in February.  For more information about this and other continuing education courses at the college, call the MxCC Continuing Education Office at 343-5865.
