Microsoft Vista/MS Office 2007 Users
| Enable Pop-ups and Cookies in Internet Explorer 7 | |
In order for Blackboard to function correctly, you must enable pop-ups. Click here to learn how to do this in IE 7. |
|
| Perform a Browser Check | |
| Click here to make sure Microsoft Vista is configured correctly to work with Blackboard. Under "Browser Settings" and "Pop-up Settings", both located on the right side of the page, all components should be "enabled." Browser Plugins are course-dependent. If your browser seems like it is running slow, you can perform a speed check by clicking the "Begin Test Now" button located in the "Speed Test" bos (lower-center area of the page). A result in the 1 MG download range is an acceptable range to be able to download course materials. |
|
| Use Mozilla FireFox as an alternative browser | |
| If you find that you have difficulty using Blackboard with Internet Explorer 7, we recommend you switch to Mozilla FireFox (version 1.5). Click here for information on how to download and install this version FireFox (it's free). | |
| Save an MS 2007 (.docx) document as an .RTF or .Doc | |
| Most online professors tell you to submit assignments in .rtf (or .doc) format. The default format in MS Office 2007 is .docx. Your professors may not be able to read your assignments if you submit .docx files so you must remember to save all assignments in the file format (.rtf or .doc) designated by your professor. Click here to learn how to save a .docx file as a .rtf or .doc. | |
