Preparations - Log On To
WebCT
1.
System Requirements
- For browsers that are compatible with WebCT, please
visit the CTDLC system
requirements page under WebCT Vista.
- Additional firewalls or
filters added by your Internet Service Provider may block you from entering your WebCT Vista course. If you are not able to
use your Banner ID and PIN to log on to a WebCT Vista course, you may use a Mozilla browser with the
pop-up blocker turned off. Click

Your WebCT ID and password
- Your WebCT ID is your Banner
ID with @.
- If you have never accessed the Student
Self-Service System, the PIN is your birth date in “mmddyy” format.
- For
instance, your Banner ID is @00984954 and your birth date is April 7, 1982. Your
WebCT ID is 00984954 and the PIN is 040782.
If your birth date does not
work and you have never logged on to the Self-Service
Student Information System (Banner), use the last six digit of your Banner
ID as your default password.
3. Inability to log on to course
The following are two messages that are common errors you may see if you go to vista.ctdlc.org, click Connecticut Community Colleges link and then entered your Banner ID and password, but were unsuccessful in logging on:
- Message 1: "Your
instructor has denied access." You are currently denied access to your
class until the first day of a
semester. Wait until the first day of a semester and log on again.
- If you see this error message after the semester
starts, you should contact your instructor.
- Message 2: "You entered an incorrect username and password."
What to do if you see the Message 2?
- Re-check your Banner ID and password. Most often, you
have used an incorrect password.
- Check the PIN length. If the PIN you use
in the Self-Service Student Information
System is longer than 6 characters, enter the first 6 characters as the
WebCT password.
- Check the PIN hint question. Go to http://www.online.commnet.edu/. Click
Login link. Enter your Banner ID with @ sign and click Forget PIN button. You
will see a password hint question that you entered. With the hint question, you
may recall the correct PIN.
- Reset your PIN. If you cannot recall the
correct PIN, you may have your PIN reset (see below).
- If you are able to use the Banner ID and PIN to log on to www.online.commnet.edu but not to WebCT, there might be spyware or firewalls on your computer. You can download Mozilla Firefox and install it to your computer. Use Mozilla Firefox with pop-up blocker on to access your WebCT class.
4.
Reset your PIN to the default PIN
Contact the following offices to have your PIN reset to your birth
date:
