

What is myCommNet?
Essentially, myCommNet is a “portal” that allows students, faculty, and staff to simultaneously sign onto multiple systems using one logon--their “NetID.” Through myCommNet, you will have access to WebCT, Self-Service Banner, and the library databases. myCommNet will serve as a single point of entry for all members of the community college system.
1. Open a web browser.
2. Go to my.commnet.edu.
3. Enter your NetID and password, click Login.

Students:
BannerID@student.commnet.edu
Example:
00707059@student.commnet.edu for student
Faculty/staff: BannerID@mxcc.commnet.edu
Example:
00689764@mxcc.commnet.edu
Password: The same password to log on to a campus computer at any of 12 Connecticut community colleges.
If you have never logged on to a campus computer, the initial password is combination of your first 3 letters of birth month (capitalize the first letter) and last four digit of your social security number.
For example, if you are born in April and the last four digits of your social security number are 4575, then your initial password is Apr&4575 (case sensitive).
After you logon with the initial password, you will be prompted to change to a new password. The new password MUST have 8 or more characters and satisfy 3 of the 4 rules as follows:
- Upper case
- Lower case
- Numbers
- Special characters
One example of a new password is Flower07 (case sensitive). Remember; do not use your name or birthday in the new password.

You have logged on to myCommNet but could not get to a WebCT course, click here for help information under Problem 1.
Disable pop-up blockers to ensure myCommNet function correctly.
Once you are in myCommNet:
a. Access WebCT:
Click WebCT Vista icon
at upper right. Click your course name. To go to another course, click MyWebCT (upper right) and click the course name.
b. Access Student (or Faculty) Self-Service: Click Student (or Faculty) tab. Click the link under Student (or Faculty) Self-Service.
c. Access library databases (off-campus): Click Library tab.
4. Reset Password
For faculty and Staff

For students
(1) Click here to create a new password on your own.
(2) Stop by the following offices (Mon-Fri, 8:30am-4:30pm) to make your request with your Photo ID.

(3) If you don’t come to our campuses, FAX the Password Reset Form to Record's Office at 860-344-3055.
5. Change Password
Logon to my.commnet.edu, click Change Password (top-middle).
