Computer Lab

Who can use the computer lab?
The computer lab is accessible to all registered students. You are invited to stop by and use the lab at any time. No classes are scheduled in the lab. We ask that you do not bring children into the lab for safety reasons. If you plan on saving your work, please bring a 3.5 HD data disk with you. Disks are not sold in the lab, but may be purchased at the bookstore.

When is the lab open?
The computer lab is open six days a week. Please call the lab at
(860) 343-5769 for the hours for the current semester.

What types of hardware/software are available?
The computer lab is networked with a Windows NT Server version 4.0. The students workstations run Windows 2000. The lab consists of twenty-four PCs. The MAC Lab is located in Snow Hall room 412. Generally, all classroom software is available in the computer lab.

Things to do and don’t do in the computer lab.
Do:
• sign in and out of the lab;
• report software, hardware, or printer problems to the staff ;
• remember this is a practice lab, not a classroom, lab assistants can help you to access software or printers. If you require more in-depth help, free tutoring is available in the College Learning Center;
• exit the lab quickly if a fire alarm or any emergency occurs.

Don’t:
• copy, delete, edit or load any software on lab computers;
• share passwords;
• exhibit disruptive behavior;
