Monday, April 28, 2008 - Middlesex Community College Presents Sylvia Goldstein in a “A Musical Journey In Time and Space”

On Monday, April 28, at 12:20 p.m., Middlesex Community College (MxCC) will present an hour long lecture/recital by pianist Sylvia Goldstein. Goldstein will help MxCC celebrate International Week by performing works by Haydn (Austria), Chopin (Poland), Albeniz (Spain), Khachaturian (Armenia), Lecuona (Cuba), Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel (Germany), Joplin (USA), and Gershwin (USA).

The program is being held in the handicapped accessible student lounge, in Founders Hall, Middlesex Community College, 100 Training Hill Road, with ample free parking.

This event is free and open to the public. The College is handicapped accessible and there is plenty of free parking.

Monday, November 5, 2007 - Radiology School Open House

The Middlesex Community College / Middlesex Hospital School of Radiologic Technology will be hosting an Open House on Monday evening, November 5, 2007, at 5:30 PM in the Bengtson Conference Room at Middlesex Hospital. The radiography course runs for 27 months, with classes beginning each June. The graduates receive an Associates of Science Degree from Middlesex Community College and are eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists examination.

Interested applicants and family are invited to attend. There will be a short program describing the profession and the training involved. Current students, program faculty, and college representatives will be available to answer questions and schedule individual shadow experiences. Staff and students will be available for tours through the Radiology Department following the program.

Saturday, October 27, Middlesex Community College will Hold it First Annual Homecoming

All Roads Lead to Middlesex Community College

On October 27, Middlesex Community College will hold it First Annual Homecoming and invites the college’s alumni and the community to come and participate in a day full of fun and educational activities. Homecoming is presented by MxCC Foundation and MxCC Alumni Association.

The day starts with the 8:30 registration for the annual scholarship run/walk race that will kick off at 10 a.m. If you’re not a runner, you might like to bike with your family on the beautiful back roads by the city reservoirs near the campus. As a prelude to the bike ride, there will be a free bicycle safety clinic including safety inspections, proper fitting of helmets and rules of the road. The clinic starts at 9:30 a.m. and the bike ride is scheduled for 11 a.m.

Another event planned for the day is a health fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with free screenings for bone density, blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol and vision. Flu shots will be available with an insurance card or payment of $30.

There will also be campus tours, mini lectures by professors, alumni awards, music, food and lots of fun.

The Human Services Student Association (HSSA) at Middlesex Community College will hold a walk-a-thon this Saturday, May 5, starting at 11 a.m., with registration at 10:30 a.m. The walk will be on the Connecticut Blue Trails that are behind the college, at 100 Training Hill Road.

You can help the fight toward ending homelessness in Connecticut by participating in the walk, sponsoring a walker, or sending a donation to Middlesex Community College c/o HSSA Walk-a-thon, Psychology Department, 100 Training Hill Road, Middletown, CT 06457.
