Maintainer, Full Time, 37.5 hours per week

Location: 100 Training Hill Road, Middletown, CT 06457
Hours: Full-time, 37-1/2 hours per week 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (standard hours to be finalized upon hire)
Salary: $14.24 hourly (entry level, TE 9 Step 1) $15.82 hourly (after completion of 6 month working test period, TC 9 Step 1)

General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Some oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; ability to learn policies and procedures; ability to operate, perform minor maintenance and preventative work on equipment and power tools used in daily work; ability to operate a midsized tractor with attachments, commercial lawn mowers, power sweeper and material handling equipment. Some ability in simple record keeping also required. Duties include building and equipment maintenance; grounds care/lawn cutting and landscaping duties; operation of trucks of less than five ton capacity; furniture moves and room set up duties for various events; building and parking lot maintenance; snow shovel and operate snow-blowing equipment, snow plowing and sanding; accept and distribute product deliveries; and other related duties as assigned. Incumbent may be required to work overtime with minimal notice.
Note: The filling of this position will be in accordance with reemployment, SEBAC, transfer, promotion and merit employment rules.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications for the positions are a Master's degree in the related field and preferably 2 years of teaching experience in such discipline at the college level.
